THE BRIEF:
“Wink” Salon is a luxury salon founded by celebrated make-up artist and hairstylist Samantha Jagan. The unisex salon offers a gamut of beauty and style services inspired by latest global trends offered by their highly professional beauticians.The brief was to translate the big house like environment into a statement beauty salon.
THE CONCEPT:
The store is housed in a big old house with its own architectural language. The store design concept has used this to its advantage by using the spaces to create quirky spatial experiences across its two levels – ground and first floor.The store design concept uses an unusual combination of classic luxury and the quirky in its interior design language, display, messaging and imagery. The Moroccan-style interior design is quirked up with a variety of delightful retro elements complemented with Italian style furniture. Each service, like the hair styling, makeup, bridal lounge, pedicure and manicure, shampoo lounge, consultation spaces, facial offer a different environment experience to make every customer feel happy and special. The elaborate design palette for the store design is comprised of special materials like polished distressed wood, texture paints, cut vinyl transfer, cast iron forms and various metal finishes, painted ceramic objects, carved out POP forms, customised wall papers, high end leather & fabrics, intricate jaalis (trellis), crafted frames, laser cut metal sheets and many more. Elements like crafted mirrors, glass chandeliers, seating, quirky props, wall treatments have been carefully detailed, produced and installed with care and purpose come together to complement Wink’s luxury services for its very special and high-end celebrity customers.
